  1. If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be?
It’s a toss-up. Probably Neopolitan, because I have a hard time making up my mind.  I’m also known in the Middle School circuit to always have Brown Cow available, so maybe that’s my thing.
  2. If you were a YouTube star, what would you be famous for?
Probably cooking or baking. Making party food is my fav. Close second would be awesome dance moves.
  3. What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?
Well, the urban legend is that we swallow 7 spiders a year while sleeping, so there’s that… Probably another not-so-odd-for-an-adult-but weird-as-a-preteen food that made an impact on me was a “dessert” of Fruit de la mer that I ordered while in a small town in France with my parents when I was younger. I foolishly expected strawberries, etc, but instead (obviously) got seafood, including octopus. I actually don’t know if this qualifies,  because I can’t remember if I ate much of it or not, but I’m counting it. Along with the spiders.
  4. What is something you would like to learn or do in your life
Flower arranging.  I love, love, love flowers and like to be creative with them.  Making pretty arrangements from my yard makes my heart happy (and my bathroom prettier).
  5. Choosing anyone in the world, who would you like to have as a dinner guest and why?
Hands down, Tina Fay and Amy Poehler.  I want them at one of my parties so badly! They just seem friendly and funny. I just know that we’d be best friends and they’d love me forever. My daughters say that I’m delusional and that I’m not funny enough. Brats.

I have been married for 27 years to Zach (like Zach and Kelly from Saved by the Bell. Sadly enough, it’s our identifier) and have 4 kiddos. Girl, boy, girl, boy. My oldest is out of college, living in Detroit, and expecting a little girl in May. Yay! This means that I am open to glorifying, adorable synonyms for my new title as (gulp) “Grandma”. My middle two are in college - Purdue and IU, so lots of smack talk at our house when they are home. And then there’s the last man standing, my 12 year old son, the reason (one of them) that we still get to act like children. My family is my life, giving me a big reason to do the things that I love - cooking, creating, and traveling (I’m at the beach every chance that I get).  I’m also always up for socializing! We have 2 pups, Pip and Finn, which I adore and let hog the bed way too much. I’m so happy to be at Notre Dame and love my job in the English Department. I really enjoy working with the students and appreciate all that they go through, especially after hearing the other side of things from my own children. I look forward to getting to know people within the university and expanding my social circle outside of the English Department!
